I was just prescirbed Lamictal for atypical depression/anxiety. I have heard really good things about it and was excited to try it. We're titrating up starting at 25mg for two weeks. Today I picked it up from the pharmacy. I always google the manufacturer for the generic when I get new meds just to hear people's experiences.

Well, when you google "zydus lamotrigine," you get exclusively horror stories. People either saying it doesn't work at all or it gave them seizures and depression. I understand that people with bad side effects are the most likely to post about them online, but I couldn't find even a single person saying the Zydus generic worked for them.

I already picked up my meds and I don't think I can switch them out for another manufacturer at this point, so I'm really hoping someone can confirm the Zydus generic can work sometimes? If not, I'm not even sure if this is worth taking. What's the sense in starting on a new drug that works for no one?

I'm a pharmacy technician so I can order whatever brand I want. I take the Zydus brand and have absolutely no problems with it.

I've been on lamotrigine for 7 years and had great results. At the beginning of the month my refill was switched to zydus (from teva). At first i thought i had a flu but then have slowly put together symptoms related to what seems like withdrawal --gastro problems, headaches, insomnia, dizziness, anxiety, rash on face, arms and torso. Hair loss too, (handfuls) although I'm not sure how that fits in. I called my psychiatrist yesterday about it before googling. Im waiting to hear back from him. Again, the drug worked for me, but this particular brand seems to be causing some issues.

I just called my psychiatrist about the switch from teva to zydus earlier this month. I gradually figured out that Im having horrible withdrawal like symptoms, a prickly rash on my face, lethargy and insomnia, nausea, gastro problems, dizziness, headaches, anxiety. Noticable hair loss too. Also, when i can sleep, my ptsd related dreams are back in full.

I just tried posting but it seemed to disappear. In short... brand switched from teva, which worked well, to zydus and its awful.
