Going nuts here. I have been on 30mg of Mirtazepine/Remeron, for the last 4 weeks. That has been added on to 50mg of Seroquel at night with 1.5 mg of Klonolpin. Have to say that my sleep has been so much better at night.

My appetite is out of control and I don't know how to stop eating. I try and keep busy but I am losing the fight.

Can I just ditch the Remeron? My p'doc has suggested abilify before but I have declined. Any thoughts that may help. Please...........

Hi possum, I gained a lot of weight from the Seroquel and Remeron combination. The stuff caused me to feel so hungry all the time...if I didn't eat a large amount I felt sick. Very weird.

Remeron never did anything to help me, but neither did Abilify. From what I've read and heard, though, it seems more people are helped by Abilify than by Remeron.
Thanks for this!

My p'doc said it is okay for me to stop taking the Mitazepine but wants me to put the Seroquel back up to 100mg at night so I can sleep. Along with that I take 1.5 of klonopin/Paxam. Also I should think about taking fluoetine/Lovan for the depression.

An hour later I get a call to pick up a script for a medication that I didn't even ask for. Wondering if I am losing my marbles or is he

I was rx mirtazapine for appetite and sleep but it had zero effect. I discontinued without any trouble. I couldn't take abilify due to side effects, but many people are helped by it.
I hope your new med will be successful for you.
Thanks for this!

I was just prescribed mirtazapine for sleep. I have finally slept well, but I'm very irritable by the next afternoon/evening, and have started picking and biting my fingernails, skin and cuticles until my fingers hurt. I have no idea why this is.

It's too soon to see if my appetite has changed any. I wonder if appetite changes depending on the dose and how frequently you take it. I didn't take it last night and was awake until 3 am.
Thanks for this!

Mirtazepine is great for sleeping I can agree with that. Not sure if I am going to go back on Lovan due to the fact that I had so many falls when I was taking it.
Shaky today.
Thanks for this!

What did the doctor prescribe the Mirtazepine/Remeron for? Sleep, depression, or both?
Thanks for this!

For sleep mostly - I dont remember him using it for depression. Now that I am off Mirtazepine he is asking that I think about going back on Lovan (which is an anti d).
Thanks for this!
