I can't sleep and I have to work in 3 hours. Luckily I see my doctor on Tuesday.

Can you tell me why the Seroquel is no longer practical?
Thanks for this!

I keep reading that gabapentin isn't effective. I hope my Pdoc never prescribes it to me. I bet it wouldn't fix a panic attack.

I actually find gabapentin to be really effective. I even take my PRN dose of it before my PRN klonopin most of the time although for a panic attack I take klonopin because it kicks in a little faster. I really like it. Everyone's different.

400 mg is not very much at all. Perhaps a higher dose would help you sleep better.

I'll try 500mg.

It's too sedating.

Talk to your doctor about the gabapentin dosing. I take up to 1000 mg at bedtime (800 mg minimum) and that's when it really helps me sleep. I am on clozaril so I'm already getting a huge amount of sedation but that gabapentin dose makes a huge difference in how much I sleep. The dosing on it can go really high. When I came out of the hospital on it I was taking 1200 at bedtime and 600 mg two or 3 times during the day for anxiety. I think once I was on even more at night (1800?) but don't remember for sure.
