Well, I have depression after depression with short periods in between. Last time I went to the doctor she said that I probably need to stay on medication for the rest of my life. I don't know what to feel, one part of me is freaking out and hates the meds and another part is thankfull for her telling the truth.
I realise I can't go without meds at the moment but still I hope to do so sometimes in the future. How do one embrace the fact that medication will always be apart of life?

Just take it one day at a time for now. No one knows what the future may bring.

Prospected lifetime user here. I think of it like this: all people need food and water to sustain themselves. A smaller portion may require additional substances to be able to sustain themselves. We need *insert medication type*. It will allow us to live and not be lived by our illnesses. I'm not at all proud of the medication that I have to take, but I am sooooo greatfull for their existence and my ability to aquire them. I would literally be lost without my meds .

It's not easy. I most probably have to take mine as long as I live with but I got used to it. Also, I heard that when people fall in love, they no longer need medication. Also, a lifestyle change can influence one not having the need to

I just tell myself how much better I feel. My situation is a little different given I have sza and I can say they keep me out of the hospital.
Good luck to you ![]()

I just decided to accept it. I have to be on meds for life too, I know how screwed up I am without them and how much they've helped so I am okay with it
