While it's not a pyschiatric medication, it is part of my cocktail. A diabetes drug, it is being prescribed off label to counteract side effects of some psychiatric medications (ie. Seroquel). Namely, weight management is what it is used for. I was first prescribed it nearly 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with Atypical Depression; one of the indicators being rapid weight gain. I've maintained relatively stable weight since.

BUT...

I have since been advised by my pharmacist that Metformin is also used in treatment of infertility. Geesh, at 50 years, that's all I need is to find myself pregnant. So no more Metformin for me!

Just letting you know. Maybe something to consider.
