I take lithium for mood stabilization, fluxpentixol for anxiety as well as quetiapine for both the mood stabilizing and anxiolytic effects.

Problem is that I experience major drowsiness on the quetiapine and it is sort of annoying.

I have tried Abilify before for mood stabilization after an episode that landed me in hospital. I need something for managing anxiety as well as my mood. How well, if anything, does Abilify help for anxiety?

Perhaps the first time I tried it I did not give it an efficient chance to work. There is the insurance issue, but that is not a battle for right now.

Also, what other antipsychotics have a decent ability to manage anxiety?

P.S. I know I am already on an AP for anxiety, but it is not sufficient on its own.

For most abilify increase anxiety. It didn't for me so YMMV. Zyprexa totally ended my anxiety but you don't want to go down that road. I just detoxed off of zyprexa.

could you try gabapentin, lyrica, even a reasonable dose of as needed benzodiazepine instead?

I have been on many, many meds to try to control my anxiety. Abilify didn't do anything to help. Unfortunately, the only med that has treated my anxiety is Klonopin. AP's have not helped lessen my anxiety.
