I'm on Wellbutrin SR 300mg/day. Pdoc is trying to supplement this with something to pull me out of the black hole. Latest attempt was a TCA (nortriptyline) that caused cardiovascular side effects (among other things). He's now trying to talk me into this 'new' MAOI patch.

I've read that on the lowest dose the food restrictions aren't an issue.

My questions are:

- what are the side effects (non-food related)?
- do you still have to avoid all sorts of drugs, OTC and others, even on the lowest dose?

Any info, opinions, advice is appreciated.

Mary

Very technical: http://health.ucsd.edu/pharmacy/reso...2006/v28_4.pdf

but hopefully reliable (University California, San Diego).

Perna,
Thank you. I groove to techie-talk.

The problem appears to be that there aren't a lot of studies - so I'm guessing once again we're the guinea pigs. Anyone try MAOI Patch (EMSAM)?

I appreciate your help.

For actual experiences, you might want to check out: http://www.askapatient.com/viewratin...336&name=EMSAM

Or, Psycho-Babble's main page has numerous accounts of Emsam trials: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/babble.html There's a google-based search engine to check the archives, where you'll find all but the most current discussions.
