Can't seem to find relief from the chronic pain of fibromyalgia. Have tried different drugs but I seem to be sensitive to them all. I'm ready to go for the SSI thing. Thing is I need a psychiatric report. And the psychiatrist insists I take the cymbalta. I lied and told him I got nauseas from it. I just want him to write a report that I'm unable to be employed now. He says let's try 20 mg. maybe you won't be nauseous on that. I did take the 20 mg. today with breakfast and I felt my saliva the way it feels when one is nauseous. I have an appointment to see him tomorrow and how do I convince him to just write the report? He claims he needs to see me for a duration of six months at once a week in order for him to be able to write that report. So do I just go through the motions, show up to appoi ntments and keep saying the meds ain't working?

I would continue taking anything that is not making you feel well. How long have you been seeing him prior to this? Long enough for him to be familiar with your situation? If you are serious about SSI, which it sounds that you are, you should definitely keep all of your appointments and do exactly what you need to do in order for him to write the report-- however that does not include feeling like you have to take a medication that is making you uncomfortable. I hope you can discuss this with him. Good luck at your appointment.
