Hi, I'm suffering from generalized anxiety disorder, and I'm currently on fluvoxamine. I've taken it for 3 weeks in 50mg dosage, now I'm on 75mg for the next 6 days, and then I will be taking 100mg. I'm feeling horrible now, I'm anxious, restless, nervous and I don't really want to go out. Moreover, I don't want to meet people as I'm not willing to, I'm annoyed easily, I lost my interests and generally I feel like if I were suffering from depression (although I'm not). I sleep well. Have some unbelievably real dreams, but I know that's common. My biggest problem is that I've already taken meds like: escitalopram, venlafaxine (I couldn't get out of my bed after this), and fluoxetine (which I have taken for like 10 weeks, and was the biggest **** I've ever taken). I gained some weight also. What should I do? How long am I supposed to wait for fluvoxamine to start working? Or maybe I should ask my psychiatrist to use some other group of meds, like tricyclics? Or maybe paroxetine, which I heard generally good opinions on? I should also add that I attend psychotherapy since like July, and I still dont feel any better...

Looking forward to your replies
Thanks in advance.

I was on Fluvoxamine for three months. I told my psychiatrist I refuse to take it. It made me into a depressed person with no interests. When I lost my interest in sex, that is when I realized I had to throw Fluvoxamine in the garbage, where it belongs.

3 months is a good time to assess if a medication is good for you. Sometimes within a month you will see progress. It's time to move on from Fluvoxamine and find something better. You won't know what meds are good for you until you try them.

What med helped you after fluvoxamine? I'm considering taking paroxetine as it's seemingly the best of SSRIs (from what I've read).

Yeah, thank you. I heard it can be applied together with SSRis.

yeah i'm taking lexapro which is an ssri along with opipramol. But that alone wasn't cutting it for me even after several weeks of consistent intake. so my doc prescribed this to me.
