So my PRN at my partial wants to put me on Seroquel and Latuda at the same time. She just upped my latuda from 20 to 40 mg and wants me to go on seroquel 3 times a day, 4 pills a day (1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, 2 at night). I don't know the dose yet, but that seems like it is going to be a decent amount.

Anyway, I am scared of the side effects of Seroquel and what will happen with both of them together? I mean they are both anti-psychotics, why have me on both?

Anybody else been on both before, and how is it on Seroquel?

P.S. I'm Bipolar

TIA

I've been on seroquel for sleep (50 mg in the evening, and a few weeks 50 mg in the evening and 50 mg when I would wake up at night) and for depression/PTSD (200 or 300 mg XR). It worked for sleep, but it didn't do much if anything for the depression and PTSD.

I don't have any experience with Latuda.

I hope this works for you.

I couldn't tolerate Latuda, so don't have any feedback on that.

Seroquel works well as a sleep aid at lower doses, but loses a lot of those properties at higher doses. For me, it works well to regulate sleep without knocking me out. I'm on 200 mg morning and night. It works well for my anxiety and mania but did nothing for my depression. My pdoc added Abilify for depression, which usually works decently.

I am currently on Latuda 40mg and Seroquel 150mg I was on Latuda 120mg but have been coming down on it because it caused me to lactate. I only use the Seroquel for sleep and have been slowly upping the dose because it seems to stop working. So far though I haven't had any issues with taking these two meds together.

For some years I have been taking Latuda at 60mg and Seroquel at 50mg (for sleep). My now retired psychiatrist had no problems with that but he said my insurance would stop covering one of them because they would object to my taking two atypical antipsychotics.
So far they never have and it's been, as I said, years. My current psychiatrist doesn't believe my insurance will ever care--and so far they haven't. I haven't had any troubles being on both, though that may be because my Seroquel dose is so low.

Hi, Yes, I was on both Seroquel and Latuda for about a year. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking the Latuda because it was causing a severe hand tremor.

As for Seroquel- at a high dose it caused me to gain a lot of weight. At this time I take only 25mg. for sleep.
