Only been on Lexapro 10 mg once daily for about three months . If i quit cold turkey do u think it will be ok. Little to no withdrawal? Since its only been about three months. Thanks. I just feel more depressed and not sure if it's for me.

It really would not be appropriate for us, here on PC, to be making recommendations with regard to discontinuing medications. This is a question you need to pose to your prescriber. Also, it seems that everyone is different in terms of how they react to withdrawing from medication.

I've taken myself off of psych med's numerous times... mostly without my doctor's oversight. And I've never had any serious problems. But I know from reading posts, here on PC, that other people do have great difficulty. So it seems to be a very individual thing. Of course, even in my case, I didn't just stop taking the medication I was on. I tapered off... not all that slowly... but I didn't just quit cold turkey. In general, I don't think quitting cold turkey is ever recommended unless it's really necessary.

Here are links to a couple of articles from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of discontinuing medications:

I wish you well...
