I'm on Vraylar, Lithium, Zoloft, Wellbutrin for psyche meds. Also am on hormones Progesterone and Estrogen. I don't think the hormones are responsible for it. I've gained 30 pounds and I barely eat. I'm so frustrated. I'm getting married and my dress is tight and I'm afraid it will pop as I walk down the aisle. I've gone off the Lithium and Zoloft for two weeks. No bad effects. Haaaaauuuuulp

Could be any of the above except the wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is weight neutral.

I have lost a bunch of weight on Zoloft and lithium. However I know someone who gained 60 pounds on Zoloft. I can't say for sure, but Zoloft can affect your weight and may be the culprit.

i think lamictal and trileptal are weight neutral. not sure about tegretol. just about any tranquilizer/antipsychotic will cause at least a bit of weight gain, sadly.

Have you had your thyroid checked? I’ve seen a few people post that lithium impacted their thyroid. That can cause weight gain.

I’m going to get mine checked. I’ve gained 20 pounds.

Just as a class, the atypical antipsychotics have the drawback of causing weight gain. The pharmaceutical companies are not interested in creating entirely new formulas; they just jiggle with what they've already got and call it Vraylar (for example). There's an article in the Boston Globe about it today.

Anyway I agree that the only one of your drugs that you can exculpate is Wellbutrin. As far as antipsychotics for mood stabilizers Latuda is probably the least guilty, although it's hugely expensive.

All of the medications you mentioned, except Wellbutrin, can cause weight gain (as someone else already mentioned). I’m pretty sure that hormone supplements can also cause weight gain. You may want to check with your doctor.
