Hi. After 6 years of great stability- my meds are no longer working. I’ve been on Lamotrigine, Saphris and Venlafaxine. I became really depressed in December and am in the middle of another episode. My pdoc has put my me on Lithium and has recommended Latuda. I really did great mentally on Saphris BUT gained 110 lbs. It’s really been a struggle. My sanity was and is more important than my vanity. I’m wondering if Latuda also causes weight gain. I’m desperately hoping it doesn’t and I can get to a place where I can be at a healthy body weight.

Please let me know your experience.

Thank you in advance.

I gained a lot of weight on Seroquel, but none on Latuda. It was also a good med for me.

hi. my understanding is that pretty much all of the major tranquilizers/antipsychotics can cause some weight gain, but Latuda is one of the better options.
