Please help. I was on Ritalin for about two years for treatment resistant depression and it worked; does anyone have positive experiences with stimulants for depression?

I use them to help me stay awake all day. I use Jornay now. I tried Focalin before and it worked but if I forgot the second dose I would have trouble staying up but it was too close to bedtime to take it.

Just a question: if the Ritalin worked, why did you stop taking it? I know there could be a multitude of reasons, but could you go back to Ritalin? I don't have any personal experience with stimulants working for my depression (though I have taken Vyvanse before for trying to treat my negative symptoms of schizoaffective disorder). I don't think they really did anything for me.

Also, what about antidepressants? You didn't mention that in your post, so I wonder if you've tried any? I'm assuming you have since you said you had treatment-resistant depression.

My husband and I were trying to have a baby. Now we're not, because I was doing so awful off my medications. I've tried a lot of antidepressants. They help my panic attacks but never my depression.

My psychiatrist put me back on Ritalin yesterday. I'm relieved, but so sad and worried about how I'm going to have a baby one day.
