Anybody else here found that this was a good thing for them?
I have never tried it before. Don't even know what it is.

I was on mirtazepine for some months. It didn't do anything for me, either positive or negative. But a lot of people find it helpful.
Thanks for this!

I started taking it a few weeks ago, I can't say I've noticed any improvement but it's probably too early to say. It does at least help me to sleep a bit more, I'm an insomniac without it..

Thanks all. So one week down the track I am still taking the 30mg of mirtazepine aka remeron aka avanza along with Seroquel and Klonolpinpin (paxam). No noticeable change in mood but I do have a savage appetite. This does not bode well.

never taken it. i did read that higher doses=less weight gain and less day time drowsiness. in the us, doctors sometimes go up to 60mgs. in other countries, i think they max out around 90 or so (?). there's some limited research on using it as a 'booser' to other antidepressants, such as ssri drugs, wellbutrin, or snri (the remeron+effexor combination has been nicknamed 'california rocketfuel,' it seems...).
Thanks for this!

It made me feel like a zombie when I was taking it. Didn't do anything for me either, but everyone is different.
Thanks for this!

My p'doc was something about the differing dosages causing opposite effects but I didn't take it in when he was talking about it.

Maybe next time I see my p'doc I will ask about the standards/dosages in our country......... now I need to go eat something............ grrrr
Thanks for this!

Possum,
I have taken 30 mg of mirtazepine at night for years. Very helpful with my depression. It made me tired for a week or two so I switched it to night time. I am pretty confident I could take it in the morning without any side effects. Hope it works for you as well as it does for me.
