hey...
was wondering whether anyone had any experience with nausea at the start up of wellbutrin? i scoured through the net and found some, but seems like no one actually threw up. i'm on my 4th day of wellbutrin... 1st and 2nd day i was nauseous. but 3rd was when i vomitted almost ALL my meals, and even plain water i couldn't hold it down. today i called pdoc and she advised to stop the wellbutrin temporarily till i see her next (i didn't tell her why - i just said that i couldn't handle the side effects). i took my morning dose, but not afternoon.... and i puked my lunch out. i know nausea comes with all antidepressants, but i'm wondering is this extreme? ![]()

Oh, my. I haven't had nausea with any antidepressants. Are you withdrawing from any drug? That certainly causes nausea and vomiting in me.

Quote:
It is possible... and can be pretty extreme. Dopamine, opioids and serotonine stimulates the vomiting center of the brain Some antagonist of dopamine receptors are used as antiemetic, therefore, it could be expected that those meds that inhibits dopamine reuptake (enhance dopamine levels, like wellbutrin) can cause nausea.
