I'm trying to find out some information on dopamine (or however it's spelt) reuptake inhibitors (like SSRI's but for dopamine instead of saratonine). Does anyone know what meds out there are for dopamine. I feel like I'm going at a blind search. I want to try to get some sort of idea so I can talk to my P doc tomorrow about it. Any help would be wonderful.
TIA
Sandra

The one dopamine reuptake inhibitor I know about is Wellbutrin, also known as Bupropion and Zyban. There may be others. This drug is prescribed as an anti-depressant and is also useful as a smoking cessation aid.

There are also other drugs that act on the dopamine pathway. I was on Buspar for a while, which is for anxiety. Among other things, it is a moderate dopamine agonist (binds the dopamine receptor).
