Latuda was prescribed for me by a psychiatric nurse practitioner for anxiety. (I don't have hallucinations or any symptoms typical of psychosis.) I haven't started the drug yet because I am very doubtful it would do me any good. Other antipsychotics I've been prescribed did nothing, except that Seroquel helped me fall asleep.

I looked over threads here on Latuda. I didn't see any rave reviews. Has anyone here found it really helpful for depression or anxiety? My diagnosis is "recurrent major depression with anxiety."
Thanks for this!

Latuda surely helps some people with anxiety, but it didn't do anything for mine. What has helped me is perphenazine (Trilafon) and therapy.

Thanks. Psych meds that are effective against one psych symptom also tend to get prescribed for every second other symptom.

I've been given a number of antipsychotics and anticonvulsants. None of them helped either my depression or my anxiety. I guess they figure, if a drug tends to be sedating, it can pltentially help all psych disorders. It's sloppy medicine IMHO.

I mean, the atypical antipsychotics are considered the "major tranquilizers," whereas the benzodiazepines are the "minor tranquilizers." So technically either could be helpful, including a major tranquilizer. Also, I agree - different psych meds get prescribed off-label for varying purposes.

I take Latuda and it does help my anxiety some but mainly my depression has improved. Good luck!

That it has helped your depression is interesting. I'm glad you were helped in that way.

How fast did it take to work for you?? What dosage are you guys on if you dont mind me asking?? My doctor just suggested this, and I took it , I see a bit or relief from my anxiety, and the problem I have is that it is very sedating, like it makes me sleepy, will that go away? Did you guys feel that?
Thanks for this!

I take latuda helps me with depression and psychosis. I don't have anxiety and do get stressed. So no clue if it would help or not.

I haven't actually tried it yet. I could use some sedation, so maybe I will soon. When I dig out the container, I'll tell you the dosage ordered.
