I am have been suffering from tardive dysphoria for over 3 years. Every day is a struggle with anxiety and depression. I was on antidepressants for 20 years. Before the onset of this terrible condition I was on Sertraline and Mirtazapine. I have since tried Lithium and then Trazodone without relief of my symptoms. Tardive dysphoria has ruined my life. I find the simplest of tasks very difficult. I am now off all antidepressants. I have constant suicidal thoughts.

I am so sorry that you are suffering this. How utterly heartbreaking! Wish I knew what to say that would help. My heart goes out to you!

Hi, Taurus23 and welcome to My Support Forums!
![]() I'll look up tardive dysphoria to try to understand what you are going though and be back here. Okay, I see it's chronic depression caused by long-term use of antidepressants. That's sad in more ways than one. I wonder if a drug that's an upper would help-something that would sort of induce mania. I hope there will be such a thing at least soon. Thanks for sharing. This topic is something we should talk about. What can we do to help? ![]() Last edited by Travelinglady; Jul 24, 2022 at 09:27 PM. |

I am pretty sure you are referring to tardive dyskensia? I know this must be difficult. There are meds to help TD. Are you a me to try one? There are mood stabilizers that are not antidepressants which may help.

I thought that, too, deejay--but there is so a thing as tardive dysphoria. Maybe someone can have both. Could that be, Taurus23?
