Has anyone ever taken Effexor?
It makes me so revved up that I have to take it
with a clonazepam to calm down.
I get really manic when I take it...
Buzzing around and can't sit still.
Anyone the same?

Hi Labyssum,
Call your doctor. That is an "unwanted side effect." Your doc needs to change your med to something else, but can't do it until you tell him or her! Give 'em a shout.
Take care,
Okie

Just a warning if/when you get off it - the withdrawal from Effexor is PURE HELL.

Like lightening going off inside your brain. Hard to describe, but the pain is horrible.

If I had known....I never would have taken it in the first place. Not to mention the fact that I was clearly Bipolar but my dumb-***** therapist didn't see it and kept increasing my anti-depressant meds which only made me worse!

Lovely.

Are you Bipolar?

Because if you are bipolar, an antidepressant withOUT a mood stabilzer can cause mania. If you are Bipolar, you need to be on a tradional mood stabilizer before taking an antidepressant.

If you are not Bipolar, I would think that this is an unwanted side effect and you need a med check/change.

No, I'm not bipolar, I have schizophrenia and anxiety.
I know, I came off Paxil when I was younger and that was pure hell too.
Thanks for your replies.;-)

that must be annoying. Its def not something you would really want to stick to, after all, having to take another drug to counter-act the results of another med is kind of not good.
