Hey all, hopefully someone here can help or maybe someone is going thru or has gone thru what I am goin thru.
Been dealing with depression off & on for the past 10yrs, but recently over the past year, It has gotten too much for me to handle & I finally decided to get help. I had taken generic celexa (2yrs ago) & generic remeron (6yrs ago) with no help, so I just quit takin them & dealt with it on my own.
I am now on generic wellbutrin sr 150mg, I started takin a tab in morn& one in the afternoon, couldn't take it in the afternoon too much longer cuz I wasn't sleeping at nite. So he told me to start taking 2tabs in the morn, an he is prescribing Wellbutrin XL.
I am liking the generic Wellbutrin, I am back to me, except for the mood swings!!
Is there anything I can do or anything else I can take to help with these mood swings? My husband loves that I am not crying all the time, but hates me being so mean & grouchy, any suggestions??
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi redneckdiva, I have been on wellbutrin for years...I know this is not going to help much...but, you might give the med a little time. I have never really had problems with side effects, but maybe your body/mind will adjust to the med.

Oh Lord I hope so!!
Thanks so much for responding. Been really concerned, I did the sanity test & the Goldberg bipolar screening & both say I have symptoms of moderate to severe bipolar. How accurate do you think these are? Is it accurate enough I should consult my Dr?
Thanks for your time!!

my psychiatrist (who handles drug research as well) told me Wellbutrin has the best track record for little or no side -effects....
now everyone is different, so communication with your provider is the key...tell him/her exactly what your feeling.....ive been on XL and SR (SR is cheaper), and have never had any complaints.....

I have taken wellbutrin in the past. it helped my depression but sent my anxiety disorder thru the roof. I too began to have horrible mood swings. Like i would be fine and in a split second i would just be enraged over the least thing. I leveled out after doc helped me with anxiety meds. I stopped taking it because i had really terrible nightmares when on it. I would talk to doc about symptoms you are having, more than likely they can help you with it. Hope you find relief soon.

Hey thanks to ya'll for your inputs!
(( Recluse)))
0 toB***** in a split second was me!!! OMG anything would just make me want to beat the heck out of someone or bite their head off!!!
Dr put me on lonopin 1mg 2xs a day, but it was way too much for me & made me feel out of it, so I am now taking .5 2xs a day.
I have never been better, I am back to the real me, since being on the wellbutrin & klonopin. I no longer have things runnin thru my mind & i just feel at peace.
thanks again!!!

Just a warning, klonopin becomes habitual... tread with care.

Was on Wellbutrin and got the HECTIC up and downs ... Doc put me on Xanor (similar stuff) and it was amazing, life was bowl of cherries or however the saying goes. Until I tried to stop the Xanor ... not pleasant.

Wellbutrin SR gave me nightmares, too. And if I forgot to take the afternoon pill until after 4 p.m., i would be up all night. Wellbutrin XL or burpropion xl (generic) seems to level me out, but I entered a major depressive episode a month ago and the docs added Lexapro, which I'm not happy about.
