Last night I decided to try to get off my medications. I take Abilfy, Dexedrine, Wellbutrin and Lamictal. When I first got up this morning I took a dose of Dexedrine, but I have not had any of the other medications or any more of the Dexedrine. It is about 3 PM and my head is really starting to hurt. Matter of fact, I think I can feel my heartbeat in every single one of my hair follicles.

I am not really sure what is going to happen…how I am going to manage to do this, but I want off these meds. I am so out of touch with my feelings that I don’t even know who I am anymore. There is no joy in my life. Life is just a series of tasks that must get done so I can go to bed. I just can’t stand to live like this anymore. I can’t stand the nothingness. Oh, my god, my head hurts.

Anybody else tried to get off a similar combo of meds? What happened?

why did you quit all 4 at the same time???

I dont take any of those except Wellbutrin.....

My psych told me before I quit any meds to consult him first so he can "prescribe a procedure" for doing it with as little withdrawal as possible....

Oh hon....I understand what you are saying and how you are feeling about getting off the meds. So many times though you must ween yourself off them and not quit cold-turkey as it can throw your whole system into a tizzy and then you'd be in real trouble.

Maybe you can start by reducing your doses to find a level that gives you help yet allows you to "feel" again. Please hon....go to your pdoc and set up a plan for reducing/stopping them so you don't hurt yourself in the meantime. Patience hon.....you will get there!

I understand Depressme. I went off Seroquel and tried to taper Prozac down. I want to get off Prozac altogether and Neurontin too.

I swear we need detox to get off of this stuff. My T doesn't support it because last week when I told him I could barely get out of bed, his first comment was about going off all my meds.

P-doc won't be supportive either. I swear we are on these meds more for them than us sometimes.

It would be very hard to just quit all of the meds at once though. See if your doc can work out a plan for you.

(((((DepressMe))))) Ouch, that sounds like it hurts.

Can you work out a plan to taper your meds together with your pdoc? Some of them really have bad withdrawal symptoms so you need to go slowly. Please get professional advice. Anybody else tried to get off a similar combo of meds?

I noticed you have like almost 3 years of sobriety. Does a certain med that you take help you stay off the Booze...?

Just bringing that to your attention..? You wouldn't want to relapse..?

Weening is the way....It does suck to have to take all those meds. Please talk to your doctor about your meds. Don't go
cold turkey....Good luck Sunrise..... Anybody else tried to get off a similar combo of meds?
