Okay. Now, I am no longer zonked. I have increased anxiety and not enough sleep. Has anyone experienced this with zoloft? I took 25 mg for 3 days and then went up to 50 for the past 2 days. Today will be day 3 @ 50 mg. I have flutters in my chest from anxiety and the last two nights had a twitch in the muscle in my arm.

Do these symptoms improve over time?

Did the anxiety just start or is that what the Zoloft is supposed to be treating?

Hi Chris,

The zoloft is to treat depression and anxiety. When I increased the lexapro my anxiety increased so pdoc decided to try zoloft (also because my depression became worse and it was clear I needed more).

However, the anxiety increased along with that muscle twitching which, btw, has now stopped.

Hi,

Be sure to talk to you doctor about that. SSRI's can have the effect of making people feel "wired" and anxious.

Sometimes they really help with anxiety, but they can also cause increased agitation in some people.

It may be sign that this is not a good drug for you, and in any event I'd bring it up with your doctor right away.

Miss, it's really normal for that to happen. I have been on a lot of SSRIs and I have had internal "flutters" and "shakes" at the beginning that have improved over time.
