HI,
I went thru a mini crisis the past week but have since been feeling better. I explained to my therapist, that our current once a month meeting just wasn't working and I needed to be seen again once a week. I think it's a good thing. I have been really depressed lately and he suspected I was going thru a relapse of depression. Since last week though, I have felt better and we no longer think its a full blown relapse, just a "rough patch". I guess I just need to communicate more to him, when I need to be seen. I don't want to feel like I am asking for too much I guess.

I am glad that you were able to explain to your therapist what you need from him. That is something that is very hard for me to do, I don't think that you are asking to much if it is something that you feel that you need.

Whales75,
I think it is great that you were able to ask for what you want. You needed some additional support, ask for it, and he responded. It is cool when therapy actually works Increased visits I would feel good about doing that too. Maybe the key to maintaining this feeling is to not allowing yourself to second guess what you did or how you feel.

Thanks for the encouragement. You're right, I really shouldn't second guess myself. I am glad I did ask for more sessions.

Thanks for the encouragement. I know it's hard to ask for what I need. I'm so used to doing what others want. But I'm glad I did it. It turned out better in the end.
