i have been drinking my problem along with a few other things away but i have been thinking about seeing a doctor. I dont really want to come open with my problems to my family because i am a teen and dont want them to worry about me but what i am doing now isnt safe for me now or in the long run... what should i do?

Hey amigo,
you're in a tough spot but you better talk to someone and fast. You're very young and now is the time to get a handle on these maladaptive behaviors.

See a doctor, but because you're more than likely a minor it's going to be very hard to keep things on the down low, but honestly as the father of a teen I'd rather know the truth and get to work rather than judge and and think of some sort of discipline. Hopefully your parents will think along those lines also.

Part of maturing is dealing with problems head on and not running or trying to work around them, and I think (and hope) that's what you'll do.

A bit of short term angst is better than a lifetime of trouble and pain.

drunk/cough syrup from doctor or talk to my doctoer? :

May I just tell you the sooner you're honest and ask for the help you need the better off you'll be. I don't know what makes us so afraid to talk to our doctors/family. It doesn't get any easier as you get older, so reach out and get the help you need now rather than dance around and waste precious time.
