Hi folks,

I just returned from pdoc for a follow up on the zoloft. I've been on it about 4 weeks now. Well, lo and behold my blood pressure was slightly elevated. The same thing happened to me with effexor and I had to go off it. Now, pdoc said he had not heard of zoloft causing this but it could certainly be possible. He is also thinking that maybe my thyroid function is low. So, here I am again in a bind with med.

He said to go back down to 25 mg of zoloft rather than the 50 and to take the klonopin every night at bedtime, rather than as needed as I have been taking it.

I'm just worried that the lower dose of zoloft won't be enough for my depression. This is such a dilemma, getting the right dose of the right med. grrrrrrr

Well if your thyroid is low, they can test that with blood testing. And one thing I notice, is anytime I go to the doc my blood pressure raises. I'm not afraid of the doc, but going there for some reason upsets my bp.

This is just my personal thing, but I also have had slightly elevated blood pressure the last few weeks, but my psych nurse chalked it up to me being really anxious/agitated about some personal issues going on. But then at our last appointment, she did seem a bit more concerned about the blood pressure.

I've also been getting nosebleeds.

I'm on 200 mg of Zoloft and 100 mg of Lamictal and 15 mg of Zyprexa. It could be any of the three meds, but I've been on Zoloft the longest.
