For the last few weeks on and off I have been experiencing episodes of low blood sugar (it feels like that anyway). I can only seem to go for 3 to 4 hours without food and I experience this awful feeling and shaking. I am on Epilim (sodium valproate) chrono 1000mg a day and I read that it shouldnt be used for someone who has diabetes. I am not diabetic but am quite overweight which I am trying to sort out. Any ideas ?

Hello Babs.
I also have this problem. One of the most important things that i did to try to feel more stable was to switch to a hypoglycemic diet. A hypoglycemic diet lets you eat smaller meals more often to keep the sugar levels more stable. The diets can be found on the web or under the American Diabetes Association website. I hope things get better for you soon Babs. Take care and good day. Soidhonia

Are you getting enough protein in your diet. which leps to stabilize your blood sugars as well as a diet with high fiber content..
simple sugars are a no no, trythe diet as reccomend and call you doc to see if there are tests that can be draw..your meds may be off.look at you sodium level s in particular.
I wish you well.

Thanks S and bizi for your replies. I will certainly look into that diet, in the meantime my pdoc has said that I should go get my blood sugars tested with my GP, so am going tomorrow. Thanks again.
