I am on 200mg of Zoloft, 100 mg of Lamictal, and 15 mg of Zyprexa Zydis.
My hands are really shaky, like if I hold a cup of water the water shakes. Is this a normal side-effect? Is it something I should call my doc about, or can I wait till our appointment on Thursday? What would cause it? Just weird. Not a huge deal, but annoying. |

One of the side effects of Zoloft is tremors and hand spasms. I suggest you call your doctor right away, just to make sure.

Also antipsychotics (e.g. Zyprexa) can cause that.

I'd bet on the Zyprexa being the culprit!

Not as bad today, and I'm wondering if it was a combo of my quadruple-shot espresso coffee drink, and the meds. I don't know.
I'll definitely ask my pnurse on Thursday what's going on. That, and the weight gain...yikes. I'm so sick of people looking at me like I'm pregnant. Maybe I'm imagining it. But I swear they keep looking "there". Sigh. |

I'm betting on the Olanzapine (Zyprexa). Drinking caffine markedly increases the blood level of Zyprexa.
If you would like an explanation of why, I can do that as well lol. I just prefer not to type it all out if you are not interested :P

My doc took me off the Zyprexa for this reason and the weight gain (8 pounds in one week! Yikes!) She put me on a different antipsychotic that she said showed a low risk of weight gain in the clinical trials - Invega? I guess it's a newer drug, made from Risperdal. I'm on a low dose, she says it's the "glue" I need to keep things together for a while.
So far so good, except I can't sleep at all. Got 3 hours last night, and it's currently midnight and I am not tired at all. That part....not a good sign. But I did manage to eat much less today without the constant urge to eat like on Zyprexa. And the increased energy allowed me to go for a 6 mile nature hike with my dog!! That is not me!! But I'm sure the sunshine and exercise will be good for me, even if the energy came from what may be mania. |

I am on an antipsychotic called Abilify. I also have shaky hands at times. Not all the time.
