My Pdoc just put on a low dose of an anti-psychotic (Geodon) because he thinks it'll help my depression (SSRI's and lithium have not worked). Has anyone been on Geodon before? What was your experience?
Any help or feedback will be much appreciated ![]() |

I haven't taken Geodon but my brother has. He is schizophrenic. He didn't like the side effects, BUT this is because he didn't allow it to do it's job before he called it quits. He only took it for a few weeks but he didn't like it, he says. As I said, though, I dont think he gave it time to work correctly.
there was someone here who had a really bad reaction to Geodon recently I believe. I'll have to try to remember who it was. I know this doesn't help much, but I did know a *little* about it. Good luck! Kimberly. |

I am on a small dose of Geodon (40 mg daily) to help make the Paxil more effective for OCD. I have no real side effects from it that I know of. It helps that little paranoid side of me.

My pdoc did it for the same reason that yours did - nothing much else helped.
I've been on Geodon for awhile now. Just got my dosage increased from 80 to 120. It does help. I was on Lithium and this is what he changed my prescrip. to - not any real side effects either, just really thirsty a lot. Make sure you drink lots of fluids. Hope it works out for you. |
