Has anyone been on Geodon for a long period of time? If so, what was it like getting used to it and did it provide relief?

Yes, I've been in contact with my doctor on an almost daily basis... I had sever muscle contractions and dizziness, which brought on depression. Each time we increase the dosage of Geodon it's the same set of side effects, and they last about two weeks before they pass. During this time it seems like it makes my Xanax stop working.

I am NOT a doctor, but I've heard about a new anti-psychotic called Abilify. It's supposed to be helpful both as an anti-psychotic, and as a mood stablizer and has fewer side effects. Here is some info:
http://www.healthyplace.com/Communit.../abilify_4.htm It was just approved at the end of last year and there is very little info out there about it. You might want to ask your doctor about it. I heard about it originally from a NAMI parent. Emmy |
