I'm a mess. I'm even confused on here. It took all the energy I had to write my post, and I accidentally removed it.

I can't write it again, so I'll just write the basic idea - I'm on 25 mg. of Seroquel for sleep. I have always been a very slim person, but I packed on 20 lbs. in the past year, since my husband sued for divorce (21 year marriage, 2 kids, he left me destitute. Oh, and he's a physician.)

I am basically non-functional as a person. I take 25 mg. Seroquel, 20 mg. Prozac, and .25-.5 mg. klonopin daily.

I cry A LOT.

Basically, I stay alive for my daughter and my dog (who is the best friend I ever had.) I hate my life, and don't really go out unless I have to.

I'm sorry about the sloppy post, but I'm really exhausted.

I'm on 25 mg. and my stomach is huge. I am so ashamed at how I look. Do you think that 25 mg. can cause weight gain? Seroquel anybody?

I was started on Seroquel 19 days ago. My dose has been 350 mg for at least a week now. 19 days ago, I also started Zoloft & Clonazepam. I've been on 100mg of Zoloft for five days now & 1.75 mg of Clonazepam.

My sleeping has improved; my thoughts are more positive; I am less angry (more calm, but also have kind of a flat affect) and I actually have "pockets" of hope & motivation.

The adverse effects are that I am like a frickin zombie in the a.m. (I take all but .25 mg of Clonazepam @ night); I have EXTREME lethargy & sleepiness (it is ridiculous), dry mouth, constipation; I cannot cry; my fingers are jittery and I have a very round belly. It's disgusting. Oh yeah, blurred vision, too.

Anywho, just wondering if anyone has experienced any of these same side effects on either Seroquel and/or Zoloft. Especially weight gain and/or water retention.

I realize it varies with each individual, but how long did your side effects last (if they disappeared)?

Thanks,

Desperado

I have been on seroguel for awhile now. I use it to put me and keep me asleep. Getting enough of the right kind of sleep improves my mood.

I was on ambien cr for a few years then my body/mind started fighting the drug. So then my pdoc and I started experimenting with the seroquel. I don't liked to feel drugged and disconnected (you know what I mean) so I'm very picky.

What is working for me is 200 mg + 200 mg xr both at bedtime. The combined dose knocks me out and the xr keeps just enough in my system so I get an entire night's sleep. I don't feel drugged when I awaken.

Right now I think it's great but my body/mind could start overriding the effects of the drug and I'll be back to square one.

I'm on enough drugs to open my own pharmacy. I have to line them up on the counter to make sure I take what I'm suppose to, when I'm suppose to.

Fortunately the seroquel is working for me.....for now. Seroquel anybody?

Thanks, kebsfroggy.

I've gone off 50mg since Mon eve, so now I'm on 300 mg. I can't take the %#@&#! zombie-like affects. Nor the voracious appetite, nor the total lethargy. It's ridiculous. Many more side effects, so now my anger is pretty much at its peak. So bloddy frustrated, too. %#@&#! drug totally sucks.

Does anyone out there know of another drug that can help you sleep w/o the aforementioned horrible side effects????? I realize no med is perfect, but my god, seroquel SUCKS.

Sorry about the venting & anger.......I'm absolutely LIVID & so %#@&#! FRUSTRATED.

i take seroquel 300mg at night and it has really worked wonders for me. i've been a bad girl trying to wean off of it because i want to be off all meds. but it's not a good idea for me. so i'm calling my pdoc to get back on it. it does take some time to work. for me i think it was a good 3-4 weeks before i began to really feel better.
