My doc just prescribed me Ambien...

Anyone have experiences with this & opinions on it? Curious.

I'll take one tonight & see how it goes.

(I have heard some stories of not recalling events happening whilst under the influence of it? )

xx

I have a friend who takes Lunesta to sleep. After he takes one and an hour goes by, he is very spacey and can forget what he says in a conversation. He knows to go to bed right away after taking one. He feels refreshed in the morning after a night of Lunesta.

I've taken Ambien for a very long time. I have difficulty getting enough exercise in the day (due to my bionic parts!) to sleep well at night so I have Ambien at night. I used to take just Ambien and it has always worked well. Then after a while, I had trouble staying asleep. So, the doc gave me Ambien CR which has a different formulation that keeps you asleep after you initially go to sleep. I have never had a problem with it and have never done the strange things that people have reported. My husband says that once in a while, when I'm just on the verge of falling asleep, he'll say something to me and I will respond but I don't remember the conversation. But I don't think that's significant. I think that sort of thing happens regardless if you're taking a sleep aid or not.

I have taken it for almost 4 years now. You can be groggy on it in the morning after taking it to start with, but I have to say it does help me sleep.

The memory thing, I've had conversations I don't remember, but unless you are prone to sleepwalking, you shouldn't have any issues...

It did nothing at all for me. I could not even tell I had taken anything.

I love it. I take 2 tablets at night and the only problem is if I don't get enough hours of sleep, I tend to have a slight issue with remembering things in the morning.

It works very well though.

Well I'm off it now.
And I can't get to sleep without meds.
URGH.
:/
Anyone have any ideas for long term sleeping meds to help drift off and stay asleep?
