Psych drugs are very fickle things. One drug might do a lot for someone, and that same drug might do jack squat for another person. It's different for every person, but I hope you don't get any side effects, and I hope the zoloft makes you feel better:-)

I found Zoloft to be a great drug. Even though when I took it was not for OCD.

Everyone is different though, you'll know if it starts to work, if it doesn't within those 6 weeks or so and you do not notice a difference then you tell your doctor, and find out where you can go from there.

All meds work differently for everyone. What will work for one person might not work for someone else. Just keep your doctor updated on how you feel with this.

I wish you luck, I hope it works out for you. Give it time.. zoloft???

I am sorry you have OCD. I have lived with my daughter who was diagnosed 10 years ago and it is not a picnic. That said, she took prozac at first and it was incredible. She then had side effects and has been on zoloft for a long time and it really does help her. The doses of the SSRI medications for ocd usually have to be more then that for depression. My tiny 17 year old is now on 250 mg daily. She is such an amazing person to fight like she does. The other piece of unsolicited info I will give you is that Cognitive behavioral therapy is invaluable. Have you heard of exposure and Response Prevention? Made a big difference to my daughter at one point, and may again. Good luck.

ohh thank you i have no rpoblem sharing every detail with you. it takes my mind off the OCD and on to something that brings me complete joy. i am 6 and a half months i'm due in march. its a baby girl and her name is McKenzie Nevaeh. shes the reason i found out i had ocd lol it didn't take over my life until i had the hormone shift. but i love her so much more than i could ever imagine and shes not even her yet. she is so active in fact my doctors laugh at all my appointments b/c she moves so much which is good. shes definatly a dancer my mom says shes doing ballet lol. she is 14 inches right now and weighs a pund and a half. i'm really excited and can't wait for her to be here.
