Hello. This was a while ago, but when I first started Lexapro, my mind felt blank all the time. It took effort to think, which was weird for me. This feeling was neutral for me. Like I liked it that if got rid of me thinking anxious thoughts, but I couldn't think much without trying. It was weirdest, oddest feeling I have ever experienced. I don't know what else to describe it as blank, but that's what it was. Has anyone else experienced this feeling? This stopped a while ago, I wonder if it means the effect went down. Anyways, not important, mainly wondering if anyone else felt this. Thanks for your response Blank mind when starting Lexapro?.

Social anxiety disorder, GAD, OCD, and panic attacks

I am bipolar and took Lexapro for quite a while. The reason my psychiatrist prescribed it to me was for depression. The problem I had with it was when I was no longer in the depressive cycle it made me extremely manic. I no longer take it.
Thanks for this!

I'm not on Lexapro, but I've had this feeling. It mostly happens when I'm depressed. I just lose all focus on everything. If it's happening more often than not, well I'm talking to my pdoc. Some adjustments need to be made.
Thanks for this!

Yes, I had a blank mind when I first started taking it. I was a zombie for 5 days. All I could do was stare into space an d sleep. For me, it was only a temporary side effect.
Thanks for this!

Same with me, but just wondering if others experienced it. I'm fine now.

I wasn't a zombie, I just felt blank and empty. I had emotions still. No thoughts.
