Did anyone suffer from withdrawals?
I don't know what to expect.
How do I know what is too much?
Help please.

I get the "zaps" and I get mildly nauseous when I miss doses. It can get uncomfortable! but nothing I'd need to see a doctor for.
How much are you taking? Can you back it down slowly?

I stopped it for a month because I couldn't afford it an honestly I thought I was going to die. I almost went to the hospital. I would get the "zaps" mentioned, also---a lot. I was dizzy, I was angry, I wanted to die. The "zaps"--can't think of a better way to describe them--were horrible. Please talk to your doctor about titrating you down slowly rather than just stopping one med and starting another. Mine lasted for almost two weeks. Please encourage your doctor to titrate--unless they have stopped the med themselves, they don't know what it's like. Obviously every one is different, but this is a med that should be titrated.

I was taking 60 mg a day. My pdoc cut it back to 30 mg for a week. I am taking the Wellbutrin as well (150mg). I was wondering where the nausea came from?

Cymbalta is (among other things) a norepinephrine affector, kind of like Effexor. The way it was explained to me was that people don't just have norepinephrine receptors in their brains - they've got them in their upper GI tract, too. So when you start messing around with those types of medications, it's not just firing off the receptors in your head, it's firing off the ones in your esophagus (etc.). That's why Effexor (and to a lesser extent Cymbalta) can make people nauseous when they start or change it.

I went on it this past summer, and I only stayed on it for a few weeks, and when I came off, I was unaware of the side effects of withdrawal, so I had no idea what was going on.
I was very very dizzy, no appetite, many mood swings. The best thing to do is recognize the symptoms, remember that they are side effects and NOT you sinking back into a bad place.
But, if anything is really concerning, just go to the doctor of any kind. I personally like calling Telehealth Ontario (registered nurses that assess you/answer Qs, etc) ...if you live in ontario, that is. they are much less judgemental that regular doctors i think.
