Has anybody used Provigil for depression to augment a SSRI or other type o antidepressant? If so, can you tell me what your experience has been or was like and what side effects you experienced. Thanks so much.

I take 200 mg. of provigil in the morning. I did not have any side effects when beginning the med. I like the extra energy it gives me. Good luck

I used to take Provigil. I loved it, it got me up in the mornings, gave me energy and even boosted my mood. It quit working for me though so I don't take it anymore.

Thanks! In addition to the increased energy, did you find it was mood brightener?

Thanks. I you don't mind, I have a few more questions. What dose were you taking? Were you taking it with an antidepressant? How long did you take it before it quit working? And, finally, how quickly did it take effect after you started using it?

Sorry for all the questions. I have been through a few trials already, and am a little nervous about a new med that may or may not work for me. I now have a better appreciation of the concept of "trial and error" .

Oh no problem. I was taking it along with Prozac and Effexor XR. I think it was 200mg I was taking, I was on it about 3 months before it stopped working. For me it worked immediately. I was in the hospital and they put me on it and I was up immediately.
