my dogs lift my spirits, too .

what other drugs have you tried? sometimes it's just a matter of keeping on going until you get lucky.

i am currently on lovan (=prozac), edronax and soon to start lithium. i would really recommend edronax if it is available to you - it helped where prozac and abilify didnt.

I'm on effexor and wellbutrin they've helped tremendously, especially paired together.

I had been thinking about trying prozac. I've heard people say they thought it ought to be put into the water system. I, like you, have tried a LOT OF MEDICATIONS but can't seem to get the right combination. I going to check with my T to see if he can come up with something that will work.

Have you reported your feelings to your T? Maybe he/she could help you. I hope so.

Good Luck!!!!!!

There are no "best medications" for anything. At best, it is what seems to work for most. Psychiatrist, by no fault of their own, have to take a stab at it and go from there.

What works, what dosage, what combination, what time taken for one may not work for another. It unfortunately really is trial and error and some side effects don't show up for months like elevated cholesterol or tryglyceides.

Both my psychiatrist and myself expressed much frustration as we couldn't find a combination that would work without unwanted side effects after over two years, I am finally stable with minimal side effects. However, I do have to take two medications for the side effects. LOL!!!

Do not give up and keep letting your psychiatrist what is going on and your frustration. He may express the same which made me feel better.

Good Luck!!!

I've tried in the past several different anti depressants. I just recently tried a different one, Pristiq, which is I think like brand new. It has worked really quite well for me. Something to think about. It's really the only one I can honestly say I felt like made noticeable positive results for me.
