My therapy has been really interesting lately.

A few months ago I went through a period of being angry with her every week (that was new). She, in a very nice, non-direct way, basically told me I was being too hard on myself and on others (including her). Too demanding. It was really painful.

But somehow we got past that, and things were really good for a while, better than ever, I guess feeling secure about our relationship, so not sensitive/needy/defensive or avoidant. Just nice and calm.

Then recently I started feeling more sensitive/needy again. Not sure why, but I told her this in an email (we have certain code words that I say when I need her to say something reassuring). Anyway, she responded within the hour, and said that she will miss me when I'm gone next week and that she's so proud of all that I've been doing lately. It feels so nice to have someone supporting me and caring about how I'm doing. It just makes me feel happy and strong. Just thought I'd share one of the good therapy moments...

It is so great that you recognized what you needed from T, asked for it, and received it. You deserved all of those nice things that she said. Good for you

Thanks for this!
