No, he just said dependence on the therapist. But it was in the context that it was undesirable, like its something you should not want to encourage, but sometimes a therapist has to in order to get results. But with LI, the therapist need not engineer a relationship in which the client is dependent.

yknow, for someone like me, who is so scared to open up to someone, something like what your T is describing sounds great! like - give me the techniques, and i will practice at home by myself.

LI does require the participation of a therapist. It's not a self-help technique.

I don't really understand LI but I think that it may not involve disclosure to the therapist. A lot goes on in your own head (the meetings with the ego states) and I'm not sure how much of that the client reports to the T. Maybe the T just checks in with the client every so often, "how's it going? are you still talking to your 7 year old ego state? everything OK?" I don't know how it works.
[quuote]i think i just got a bit upset myself by my interpretation of your interpretation (ha!) and wanted to poo all over T's new toy so that he would go back to being regular, reliable T who is not rejecting you under any possible interpretation.
