I'm sorry for not being so supportive of others right now....I feel like I am letting everyone down. I've just been too distraught over things lately and can't seem to snap out of it so that I can be mindful of what other people are going through.

Just know that I care about each and every one of you...

Sometimes we are in a place where we can GIVE support, sometimes we NEED support. It's okay, it's just where you're at

How did it go with T on Saturday??

Thanks for this!

(((mixed_up))),

I know how you feel since I've been needy also, though I think it would help me to be more responsive to others. You are NOT letting anyone down. Sometimes we have to take, and other times we can give.

Here's a thought. You just helped ME by posting what I've been thinking about too-- being too needy, and feeling guilty about people giving me advice that I haven't even responded to! Your saying you care about everyone means a lot to me, too.

Thanks for this!

I think being part of a group isn't just about outright advice giving or comforting posts, I think just posting where we are at any given time is enought also. People become familair with names of posters and for some at certain difficult times its good enought for them to know that just by looking in and seeing familair names and unfamiliar names they gain a certain comfort.

Mixedup don't let PC be another thing that makes you feel like you never do it well enough. Or aren't giving enough.

We have sooooo many other parts of our life where we attack ourselves about. You don't owe anyone here anything. People here have given me MANY gifts...what is great about these gifts are... They are given without expectations attached.

Take care mixed-up

I'm sorry you've been feeling so distraught! Don't worry about letting others down. You've provided plenty of support here. It's OK to take care of you! Do you feel like talking about it?

Snap! my T says you do the best that you can at the time with what you have - thats what you and all of us are doing - sometimes we are up ... or ok and we can be supportive.. and other times the darkness has us and we need the support of others .

Giving support and being able to receive support both equally important my friend (I have been hiding a lot lately but it doesnt mean I dont care about you all and we know its the same for you ! )

Actually, I've posted a lot about what I'm going through on the Abuse board.....especially about how I feel so much blame for things....I am working on it though. Some days are better than others.

You only need to apologize when you've done something bad, like hurting someone. You haven't hurt anyone, ergo....

Thanks....I guess I'm just feeling guilty lately because I want to be the genuine, supporting person that I usually am and feel like I have failed to do that lately.

I think it seems to be triggered, too, by how my neighbor/friend is reacting to me lately....being confrontational and angry about how I "haven't been there for her when she needs me" because I have been choosing to deal with my own issues in solitude - except for the help and support that I've sought out here at PC. This feels like such a safe and supportive environment.

I have found that her friendship is really not worth having, so perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. It is too exhausting to keep a relationship with someone who makes everything 'all about her'....sabotaging each and every conversation...and is very argumentative, confrontational, jealous, harsh....Sure, she has good qualities and would give you the shirt off her back....but it seems to come at a price. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

(This is the same friend who is lashing out at me about the SA incident that I witnessed the other day. Go figure.)

be gentle with yourself, okay? you are dealing with soooo much right now. i think we all go thru times where we can give and times when we need to receive. it's okay to be in either of those times.
Thanks for this!

Sometimes when I am in a bad place and beating myself up about it, I come to the PT board and respond to three posts from other people. It helps me get out of my head for a minute, and it feels good to try to support people who are so supportive to me.

Sometimes even doing that feels like too much, and that's okay. I know that when I am able, I will come back and provide support to all of the loving and understanding people here. We just do what we can, and that's OKAY.

Be gentle with you...

Thanks for this!

It's okay to need help. You don't always have to be the super fixer of everything.

I'm sorry that things are so rough for you right now....

Here are some hugs
