Are you ok?

I am still your friend.

Maybe you are trying to push the therapist away or test her?

((((((((((mightaswelllive)))))))))))) I have done that myself. It makes it very hard to go back the next time but T has never scolded me or been angry with me because of it. He is all welcoming and we talk about it calmly. I haven't done it in a while although in many sessions I keep telling T I want to leave. T says it's me running away from my feelings. Feelings = bolting since I see them as dangerous. Hope you're doing well. Please talk to us

Thanks everyone for being supportive. I appreciate it so much. I was having a hard time because I was trying to explain how I was feeling about something and T wasn't hearing what I was saying and just pushing her own interpretation. I got very frustrated and gave up. I just talked to her about something else that happened last night as a result of what happened in session yesterday and I wasn't going to get into what we were talking about but I just let go and said what I needed to say. It was hard. It's not something that we can really talk about on the phone. It's really bad that I can only say the really important stuff over the phone. Session is going to be hard on Thursday. I must be such a difficult, terrible client.

((((((((((((mightaswelllive))))))))))) You are not a terrible client. I'm sure your T will understand what you were feeling.

You are not a terrible client. You are just a person who is struggling with some very overwhelming things atm, and are feeling frustrating when you feel as though you are not being understood. I do hear something good in your post though.. you ARE able to communicate on some level what is going on over the phone, and that is way better than not communicating at all! Talking in person can be very scary, and if talking on the phone opens up the conversation in a more comfortable way, then I say go with it! Personally I am HORRIBLy scared of talking on the phone, and so hearing that you are able to do that tells me that while you may feel as though you are terrible, you are actually a very brave person who is struggling with expression and needs to seek out the path that is of most comfort.
Big hugs
Jacq
