I really, really need to talk to T about some things before my vacation. I jsut had an appointment Monday, but I feel like I need another one before I leave for a week. My friends and I are going to the beach for graduation, and I don't want to ruin their good time because I'm so f'ed up... Do you think it's too much to ask if she has an appointment tomorrow?

Thanks for this!

I think it's fine to ask. I've asked for extra sessions when I need them and sometimes T can accommodate me and sometimes not. I hope she has something available for you so you can enjoy your vacation!

I think it's perfectly okay to ask. If your T doesn't have availability, then T can talk to you on the phone.

I just recently asked T for a few extra sessions, she was almost excited! I was joking with a friend that she must want the extra business, but my friend said that it's a big deal for a patient to ask for an extra session, and that it's also a big deal for your T to arrange that for you because your T wants to be there for you.

I would definitely ask. She may or may not have any time available, but it doesn't hurt to check.

I hope you are able to relax and have a happy vacation

Thank you all for the replies! I called T last night and left a message on her voicemail, then waited all day for a call back. So she left a message that said she wasn't in her office today, and she would call me back first thing Monday morning, so I have to wait until Monday to hear from her.

Hi fallenangel,
I know it's too late already, but do you have a cell phone? That is the number my T. will use whenever he has to contact me. He does have my home and work phone numbers but, because he knows I don't want anybody else answering my calls from him (family and friends don't know I am seeing a T.), he will only call me on my cellphone. This way I always get his calls or his messages. Maybe you can do that too, if possible. That way, you will always get to talk to your T. and not have to miss her calls. Just a suggestion. Take care.

I only left her my cell number, but I guess she decided to call the house =/ I'm goignto tell her next time I see her that I'd prefer to take my own calls, and not to call anything but my cell.

Just to give an update: T didn't have an appointment open today, but she did call me on my cell this morning, and I got to talk to her for about 20 minutes. She gave me her cell number, and told me to call any time I needed to. I'm really glad, because I had a lot going on that I needed to talk to her about.

Fallenangel, that is cool that your T gave you her cell phone number. She must trust that you will use it wisely.
Thanks for this!

Thank you guys! Whether I actually do call her or not, just knowing that I have a way to get in touch with her if I need her helps a lot. I feel like I can make it to Monday much more easily.
