Each night I let the dog outside and I stand there shivering staring up into the night sky. Looking at the stars. Is one of those stars my T? (He died earlier this year and I miss him so.) Maybe it's because it is that time of year. I used to give him a gift each Christmas. Sometimes I gave him toffees and he would smile with glee that his as mother-in-law could share them and maybe pull her false teeth out! The last couple of years I tried to give him something more meaningful. He was into Buddhism so I bought him a book on Dalai Lama quotes. He loved that.

Maybe he is up there in the sky looking down on me. I feel his presence sometimes and often wonder if he did reincarnate and is walking around on this planet somewhere.

Yes, I miss him.

I have no doubt that your T is in the stars. He's in the sparkle that you see with your eyes because of the gifts he gave to you and others. I'm sure some of those gifts remain with you in the lessons he taught you... because those lessons are now a part of you. I think when we get in touch with parts of ourselves through another it is a connection that can never be broken. So I very much believe that he is still with you. I'm sure all of the thoughtful Christmas gifts you gave him left him feeling appreciated.
Thanks for this!

I love that you can feel your T when you look at the stars. What a gift he gave you....a connection with the stars, the sky, the universe, the vastness that is all around us. I love that.

Many many to you
Thanks for this!

Thanks, I hadn't looked at it like that before.

Sometimes I feel him in the wind, does that sound odd. And sometimes I think he is in the huge trees that are around my garden, that always makes me feel a bit creepy/spooky but if he decided to settle here then that is great! Keeping an eye on me and keeping me safe.

He did say he would ALWAYS be with me...

Thanks deli

I wonder sometimes if I'm going completely mad in forever searching for T. Searching, searching, searching, I guess there is a part of me that can't comprehend that he is no longer here and yet he is...

I don't think that you should see this "searching" as a bad thing. Every one of us wants and needs to connect with people who we care about and who have cared about us. And while death may break the physical boundaries of the relationship, it doesn't erase what once was, and what still is in your heart. I think that its a beautiful idea to think of your T as a star looking down on you. I believe that there are some things in life that we're not meant to analyze, but are just meant to enjoy. I think this is one of those things ...

You said that you sometimes feel him in the wind, and it reminded me of a line from the movie A Walk To Remember - "love is like the wind, you can't see it, but you can feel it."

I love the metaphor of your beloved T being the shining star(s) in your dark night sky.

Pegasus I can feel your connection to your therapist in the heavans and the stars. My therapist is 75 years old and I love him dearly. We've been together for five years now and I know some day he will leave me for good. Either he will retire and then ultimately he will die. We have talked about this and he tells me the he will see me on the other side will be looking for me so that we can be content in the thought that we will meet again when the time comes. His retirement and his aging have been and issue for me to work through and I can deeply understand how you must feel after having lost your therapist. I get so much comfort from knowing the we will meet again and that for the time being he is always close....right in my heart as well as in my mind. Just keep looking at the stars and see him winking at you knowing that someday you will see each other again. He is always with you, very close to you, deep in your hearrt and soul.
Thanks for this!

Gosh, Pegasus, this is so beautiful...

I, too, feel my dad's presence shining down from the stars and the moon, in the soft wind that blows across my face, in the majestic trees out in my backyard that my dad would have loved pruning, in the beautiful music we used to share...

And when the numbers on the clock turns to his birth date, I can see and hear him say that he loves me, and that everything's going to be okay. I know he is with me...always.

I can feel the special bond and love you have with your T, Pegasus. I know he is with you...always.

Love never dies...
