Just a little background... Three weeks ago I had to say goodbye to a person in my life who wasn't my T but she was my counselor at a day psych rehab which I had been attending for three years in addition to my regular therapy. Well, I haven't been doing very well this week because my T is on vacation, and usually this other counselor was always available for me, and I felt very much connected to her. It was very good for me to have more than one person as a support for me, and it has worked well all these years. Well she took another job and three weeks ago I had to say goodbye. It was very sudden, and at the same time I also was discharged from the program, which I have also been missing. Since T has been gone on vacation, it has really hit me that I am alone. I know my T said i can call her, but still that feeling that there is no "safety net" has been upsetting and I have thought about trying to find a way to contact this other counselor just to say hi and connect, and to see how she likes her new job. Well, today she called me!!!!! I am so thrilled. She said she wanted to see how I am doing and said she has been thinking a lot about me! It was so nice to hear from her. I never thought I would ever talk to her again. I can't even express how good it feels to feel cared about and thought about, still. I'm not alone. Things change and people move on, but the caring doesn't go away! I just had to share, I'm so happy right now!
Thanks for this!

Tay,

I'm glad she called to check on you! It's hard being in a state of change/transition and also having your regular t gone.
Thanks for this!
