I'm starting on Medicare April 1, and I need to find a psychologist who takes it. Do you all know anyplace to get recommendations for ones to call? Alternatively, does anyone here know any psychologists in Gainesville, Florida? It has to be a Ph.D. for Medicare to cover it. they don't pay for LMHC's. Thanks.

Go to
http://psychcentral.com/resources/Mental_Health/ and put in your zip code over on the right. This is one place to look for therapists.

3jane, look at UF's psychology department. They are a really good school with a great psychology program. If you have an anxiety disorder... http://www.fearclinic.ufl.edu/ I don't know about Medicare or anything though..

Hi 3jane, Do you have a pcp? If so ask your pcp for a referal. They should know what psycholigists accept medicare and also would probably have a preferance of who to refer you to. Good luck
Be well and take care, bl
