It's time to put our house under quarantine. All three boys have been dealing with a stomach bug this week and have missed some school. I lost my voice Monday afternoon. Yesterday I couldn't make a sound. That's always an adventure in teaching. Today I have a voice but it is about an octave lower than usual. I saw my pdoc today. He said he loves my sexy voice. Turkey!

I had a really nice visit with my t yesterday, and despite my lack of voice, we managed to talk quite a bit (okay, whisper is more like it). We got on the subject of church and faith and spirituality. I had told him about our middle son's youth trip last weekend, and about the boys' decision that we would all give up sweets for Lent. What caught t's attention was that I've been pretty avoidant about church for awhile. His question: Why the change? It was a great discussion. He shared his session with an Episcopal priest before he married his wife. He found it rather freeing.

Anyway, I have jury duty tomorrow, and I'm taking Friday off just because. Time for my mammogram. Ouch!

Oh, my sister emailed me and they have found a bone marrow match for her. That's all I know at this point, but that is really good news.
Thanks for this!

Farmergirl,

Sounds like a productive session! So sorry you're sick though. Yep, your pdoc was a wise cracker! LOL!

That's great news about your sister.

Yup. I feel like crud. Just about to set out for jury duty. Do you think feeling like crud is an exemption? I thought about saying I wasn't of "sound mind". Probably could have gotten away with it too. Pdoc has a very dry wit. He always cracks me up. He's this very thin, quiet spoken, man from India, but the humor that comes out of his mouth sometimes is a hoot. Not what you'd expect from looking at him.

Ugh! Jury duty! I've never had to actually serve on a jury, although i came close once. It was to be a attempted murder trial, but there was some kind of last minute bargain or something. They let everybody go home. Isn't that strange?
