Maybe nothing is wrong with YOU solarwind. I have known some people to go through 10-20 Ts before they find one they can work with. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you, and it doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with T (unless she lied to you) but just that you and her aren't a good fit. The therapy process is intricate and delicate and you really have to find someone you can mesh with. SOme clients find that they can easily adapt their personality to fit just about any T and work well with them but others find that they have a strong personality and it's hard to find the right T. It doesn't make you bad or flawed. It makes you HUMAN. It's a tough process. Be thankful you're in a city that has a ton of Ts as you say. I'm sure you want to just find someone and move along to some healing but hang on and be patient and take it one step at a time. Keep on calling until you do find someone you can work with. I know he/she is out there. It's just a matter of finding him/her. I wish you luck and keep us posted. Take care!!

Solarwind,

Try not to take it personally. You just haven't found the right t yet. Don't give up looking! There's sure to be one out there that you would click with, and who would be happy to help you with your issues.

((((Solar)))) What happened??? What do you mean you got thrown out? Do you mean she double booked and she saw the other client that was waiting and you had to go??? If that is so, that REALLY majorly sucks and I wouldnt go back.

Or did the other client wait and the T was firing questions at you?

Did you look in Psychologytoday online? That's how I found my new T, but I still interviewed them on the phone first. I know it's frustrating!

Or was the doublebooking accidental? If so, well that is not a great way to start, but these mistakes do happen on occasion. I have been seeing my T for over 3 years and I think there have been 3-4 times when two clients showed up at the same time for an appointment. A couple of times it was one of the client's fault. A couple of times it was T's fault.

Solarwind, if this new T made a mistake and double-booked, why do you think there is something wrong with you? If this T misrepresented herself on the phone to you, why do you think there is something wrong with you? Do you think this could be a communication issue rather than something being wrong with either one of you?

If there are thousands of Ts available, then there are probably a lot of them who will be a good match and can help you.
