Some of you may have read that last week, I decided to take a huge step and go down to the counseling center at my school. I almost canceled my appointment, but I went, and was glad.

I'm seeing the counselor again this week on Friday...and I feel like Friday just can't come soon enough! My friends are great people and great support and all, but I 1) Feel like they are getting tired of me and 2) Don't have a whole lot to offer for this situation anyway.

How do I make it til Friday?

I'm glad you didn't cancel your appointment and that are looking forward to your next session. I'm sure you'll get many replies to how to make it to the next session. I understand that it feels so far away even though it's only 4 days.

Some of the ways I use are:

1. I'm allowed to email my T so that keeps me connected for at least another day
2. If I couldn't email or call, I'd journal
3. Distract, distract, distract! In other words, keep busy with life outside of therapy
4. Count the days (not so helpful, though)
5. Post often on PC to get support and to help others
6. Be mindful, that is, live in the present and try to enjoy each moment as it comes
7. When all else fails, get involved in a good novel

I hope some of these suggestions help you.
Thanks for this!

Usually I write down all of the things that I feel like I can't go another minute without telling my t. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't, but at the very least I know that I will be able to revisit the issue enough to get it resolved when I show her what I wrote, if that makes any sense.
Thanks for this!

Writing it all down does make sense. I just really can't wait til Friday...this week has sucked so bad so far, and it's only Tuesday!

Gentle hugs to you ~

You aren't alone in feeling this way. You may want to focus upon each moment as much as possible, as you try to distract yourself with activities. Coloring, word searches, exercising, photography, music, writing. Try them all if you have to!

I am right there doing the same thing to make it as far as I can. (wrong-wording, I know) Like the Little engine: I think I can...I think I can...I think I can...etc. til I know I can...I KNOW I can!
