if you read my previous thread, and all the chaos within it... thank you

in it, i wrote that i sent my T a watered down version of my anxiety, the nightmare i had, my confusion, after 2 months of no emailing...
...

and this was her response....

""You are right that sometimes we do have to reach out for help in the battle. It is not possible to do it alone! I do pray for you, and will continue to do so. Keep fighting the good fight! And keep reaching out to those who can hold a shield up around you and encourage you along the way...your team (the body of Christ) IS a part of your victory!""

Blessings,
T

shes a christian and i am on a journey of discovering what that would mean
she does not push her beliefs on me at all, which is ethical

i'm just happy that I found out that she prays for me,

a good start to that negative thread... i received free hot cocoa today!

a good ending, well, even if I pay this lady... and its one of the wierdest "relationships" ever....

she is willing to think of me at times,
like, not completley forget me...when i leave the office.

whats cool is in the email i asked for her to pray for me but,
the thing is, she was just confirming that she already does it,
she'll just continue to do it. i didn't know that at alllll..... lol

thats cool
and unexpected.

the end.

I really like her response.....it is so comforting to know that people are praying for you, and I'm glad that she offered you that comfort and reassurance. Once my T told me that she continues to pray for her clients, even after they have moved on.....and that she does/would do the same for me - there really is something special in knowing that, in knowing that you are cared for in that manner!

Sometimes I think about the patient/ therapist relationship. In some ways it is similar to the lay-person/ pastor relationship. For me, it says something about unconditional support. Someone who believes we are good at heart and will overcome what life has thrown at us. It is an odd relationship because of the power difference. It is so weird to tell someone so much but hear nothing about that person. Yet they are the ones with the training. And it frees us up to not worry about that person.

What a nice response from her.
