I'm reading "In Session" by Deborah Loft and I'm loving it! It's about how women bond with their T's, T's training, boundaries, transference, etc. A lot of the same stuff on these threads!

thanks for the tip - I'll be sure to read it. I love reading books about therapy and about healing. I'm reading "The Gift of Therapy" by Irvin D.Yalom M.D. right now.

I actually ahve that book, but haven't read it yet. My attention span these days is not there. BUT when it returns , I'll be sure to pick that book up and give it a go. It sounds like you like it.

I LOVE that book! It's so helpful when I feel like I'm a little crazy in or about therapy. It helps so much to see that so many other people (women in particular) wrestle with such intense feelings about therapy too. And the author does such a good job of helping readers think reflectively about boundaries, transference, the power imbalance, and what will empower them as consumers of therapy--we have rights of our own that deserve consideration!

Cheers, LG

Hi Karebare! This is the book I've sat down with in a long time. Just got my attention span back and surprised myself by sticking with it. Hang on!

Both are excellent books about therapy, therapists, and patients/clients.
I like anything that Yalom writes. I tell my T what I'm reading, psych or not psych books, (told her today that I just read "Sometimes I Act Crazy") and told her how much I like Yalom. She has a friend who knows him professionally and reports that he is "difficult". lol I guess no one's immune

I think when anyone is at a certain point of...how do I say this..."esteem" in their profession, like at the highest level, they might become pretty Type-A and a little too high and mighty.
